 E9 units behind Sesquehanna shop. The Susie Q bought these E units from NRE in Silvis Illinois in the mid ninties after the BN retired and sold them off. They are former BN/CBQ Es now numbered #2400-2401. Fred Gruin Jr. Collection.

Here are a group of pictures that Fred took in Southern Pennsylvania on a stretch of CSX mountain RR called Sand Patch.
These are all the same train approaching the tunnel. Rear train helpers approaching.
Same train as above, rear train helpers entering the tunnel. After getting to this mountainside spot on that awful road and waiting for almost an hour, we were rewarded by a westbound climbling up the grade with a pusher on the back.
Now when the pusher is almost out of sight at the top of the hill, another freight comes down.
This is train watching at it's best!
The westbound helper engines are just about out of site and an eastbound intermodal train is seen approaching. Eastbound intermodal train passing by.
These two photos were taken from an overpass a half mile from the shot of the CSX coming out of the tunnel.
